All Good and Bad comes from Allah

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Blessed is He Who sent down the Criterion to His servant, that it may be an admonition to all creatures― (1) He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: no son has He begotten, nor has He a partner in His dominion: it is He Who created all things and ordered them in due proportions. (2) Yet have they taken besides Him, gods that can create nothing but are themselves created; that have no control of hurt or good to themselves; nor can they control Death nor Life nor Resurrection. (Surah Al-Furqan 25:1-2)

My girlfriend told me a shocking news about her close friend. She was having a bad cough and it went on for almost a few months and it didn't get better. So she went to several GPs but none detected anything serious. But she got worried, and decided to see a specialist. Little did she know that, after going through a scan, she was diagnosed with cancer of the lymphnodes. Oh my God!! There was actually a mass thingy that was growing at a rapidly rate and it was so huge that it rested on the lungs causing discomfort, thus coughing nonstop.

I felt really sad about hearing such news, but i know all good or bad comes from Allah swt. Though we might feel very sympathetic towards our friends for the illness that falls upon them, but we do not have the knowledge or wisdom to know what other kind of blessings that Allah swt has in store for us. It might take alot of faith and trust for one person to feel that there's goodness in whatever that Allah has bestowed upon us, because the word 'alhamdulillah' would not come out from one's mouth or heart so readily while preparing mentally to accept the 'new illness' in the body.

And one more thing i've realised is that, for everything that we are able to do; run, jog, swim, talk, listen, eat, sleep, walk, and not forgetting the most important thing that we do every second of our lives: BREATHE! An ustaz ever said in one of the class which i attended at Darul Arqam about the oxygen that we inhale. If ever Allah swt decides to charge us for the oxygen that we used, we will be broke!

We will not be able to count the blessings that Allah swt has bestowed upon us. Countless!
